"Kendrick" was trending on Twitter last night not because of an abiding interest in the doings of redheaded actress Anna Kendrick but because rapper Kendrick Lamar started a feud. With the entire rap industry.

Except for Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem and Andre 3000, all of whom got passes. Kendrick put the lid on —and declared himself, an L.A. rapper, "King of New York," daaaamn—in a guest verse on Big Sean's "Control (HOF)," premiered last night on Funkmaster Flex's show and embedded above. (Skip to 2:50 to hear Kendrick's verse.) Sean and Jay Electronica, who also has a great verse on the track, both get called out by name, alongside A$AP Rocky, Drake, J. Cole, Wale, Tyler the Creator and others:

I heard the barbershops be in great debates all the time:
"Who's the best MC?" Kendrick, Jigga and Nas,
Eminem, Andre 3000—the rest of y'all
New niggas just new niggas; don't get involved.
And I ain't rockin no more designer shit;
White Ts and Nike Cortez, this is red Corvettes anonymous
I'm usually homeboys with the same niggas I'm rhyming with,
But this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is.
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron, Tyler, Mac Miller:
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you niggas,
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas,
They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas.

"Control (HOF)" was supposed to be on Big Sean's upcoming Hall of Fame but was leaked to Flex's show after samples didn't clear.
